Finally, Lord Voldemort has been defeated by none other then Harry Potter himself. Though this is a great victory it came with a lot of great losses and wounds that feel like they will never, really, truly be healed. As everyone seems to be dealing with their grief differently only time will tell how this will effect the wizarding world as a whole. Will it be able to survive through this or will they let the hurt and hatred take over? Only time will tell.

Rabastan Lestrange was a pure-blood wizard, brother of Rodolphus, brother-in-law of Bellatrix, and a high-ranking Death Eater.
He was a Death Eater who fought in the First Wizarding War. The Lestranges were among Lord Voldemort's most loyal and trusted servants, the only ones who searched for him after his first downfall. After Voldemort's first downfall, Rabastan, Rodolphus, his wife Bellatrix and Barty Crouch Jr. participated in the torture and permanent incapacitation of Alice and Frank Longbottom and were sentenced to life imprisonment in Azkaban. Rabastan later escaped with a group of Death Eaters and fought in several battles of the Second Wizarding War, including the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, and the Battle of Hogwarts.
After Lord Voldemort's final defeat, Rabastan was captured by aurors and attempted to use his knowledge of his fellow Death Eaters and their whereabouts to secure his freedom- despite his continuing allegiance to Voldemort.

(Set before the Battle of Hogwarts...)
The lift creaked to a halt at Level One; the executive floor of the Ministry. The golden gate slid open before the prim and proper voice promptly announced the contents of the floor. Rab had been here many times. He knew all the secret passages, defensive charms, protocols and requirements of this area like the back of his hand.
Rab had just come from the courts. He often enjoyed spending his time in the court rooms, watching with relish every enemy or opponent of the Dark Lord being dragged away into the forbidding recesses of Death Eater justice. It had even become common practice for Rab, who regularly squatted obnoxiously next to the Judge's chair to whisper his verdict for the judge to pass. His usual drone of 'guilty' was so well-known nowadays, however, that it was usually conveyed with a lazy wave of his hand toward the timid, or fanatically pureblood, judiciary.
After an exhale and a jolt upon the lapels of his black velvet suit, Lestrange left the lift and paced smartly toward the end of the corridor. Next to the ornate doors of the Minister's Office, a smaller and slightly less lavish door stood. A middle aged intern, dressed entirely in creased lilac robes with thick spectacles to mask her weary and overworked eyes waited at the door and, nervously, opened the door and directed Lestrange through.
